LEGAL NOTICE
Legal notice is given to all resident and
non resident owners of lots and lands in the City of Toledo, Lucas
County, Ohio, that on the 16th day of December, 2025, the Council
of the City of Toledo passed Ordinance No. 556-25 declaring it
necessary to provide sprinkling, sweeping, cleaning and snow
removal services in calendar year 2026 (collectively, the Services)
for the streets, alleys and public ways in the City.
The ordinance approves the plans, specifications, estimate
of cost and schedules for the Services, which were prepared by the
Director of Public Service and are now on file in the office of the
Clerk of Council, and provides that the entire cost of the Services
(presently estimated at $24,049,639) shall be assessed in
proportion to the benefits that may result from the Services upon
all lots and lands bounding upon the municipal streets, alleys and
public ways in the City. The special assessments for the Services
shall be paid in one annual installment (two semi annual
installments), with interest on the unpaid principal amount thereof
at the same rate as shall be borne by the notes issued in
anticipation of the collection of all of the unpaid assessments, at
the same time and in the same manner as ad valorem property taxes;
provided that the owner of any property assessed may pay the
special assessment in cash within 30 days after the passage of the
assessing ordinance in 2027.
The estimated special assessments for the Services based on
the estimate of cost are now on file in the office of the Clerk of
Council and available for inspection by any interested person.
Objections to the special assessments may be filed in
writing in the office of the Clerk of Council on or before January
31, 2026.
