Lucarelli’s 50th
Tony and Ginny Lucarelli celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2026. They were married on
August 28, 1976, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Toledo,
Ohio, in a grand family celebration with 500 guests in
attendance. Their wedding party included Ginny’s six
sisters, Rosemary, Patty, Barbara, Mary, Julie, Theresa and her
brother, Joe; alongside Tony’s brothers, Robert, Albert
(Sonny), Victor and his three cousins, Don, Jim, and Dennis
Polito and friend, Sam Ray, truly a family event!
Tony spent his career in a family business
“Al‘s Upholstery” on Monroe Street—a
cherished family business originally established in 1930 by his
parents, Al and Louise Lucarelli. Tony and Ginny purchased
property in Swanton, where they built the home they still enjoy
today, surrounded by a peaceful haven filled with deer, wild
turkeys and other animals. Active members of their parish and
community Tony and Ginny hosted countless spaghetti dinners for
Ladyfield School where their three children attended, as well as
Saint Richard’s Catholic Church and led many engaged
couples conferences. These days they enjoy running the trails at
Toledo area Metroparks and representing the +75 year old division
in local road races.
The couple celebrated this 50-year
milestone surrounded by their children and grandchildren: Andrea
Lucarelli (Jake Sand), children, Ellanor and Noah, Anthony II
Lucarelli, daughter, Brielle, Dominic (Sarah) Lucarelli,
children, Ava, Mauro, Milena, Leo, Cora, and Vincent, at their
home with over 100 family and guests this August. When asked what
keeps them young, Tony quoted a Clint Eastwood movie line
“don’t let the old man in.”
